MISSION STATEMENT Haldimand-Norfolk Women's Services provides shelter, counselling, support and advocacy for women and children whose lives have been affected by abuse.   INTRODUCTION "Violence against women is a social and political issue affecting everyone. At least half of all women in Canada have experienced violence at the hands of an intimate partner and/or sexual assault. Power and control is at the root of violence against women. Living free of violence is a fundamental human right."
