S.T.A.R. Program
(STop Abuse in Relationships)
Counselling is available in all secondary schools in Haldimand-Norfolk for male and female students who:
* have witnessed abuse
* have experienced abuse in a dating relationship, either as the victim or as the abuser
* have experienced abuse in other relationships, eg. sexual harassment, sexual assault.
Brochures, books, and videos are available to students through this program, or to parents by calling Haldimand-Norfolk Women's Services.
Parents may call Women's Services for help in understanding and supporting their teenager who is in an abusive dating relationship.
No cost. Counsellors available once a week in secondary schools during school year. Support available through crisis line, 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.
