How It Works...

1. A crime has been committed and you have information about it.
2. Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
3. Your information will be taken in strict confidence by a police coordinator. You never have to give your name and will never be required to testify in court. Your anonymity is guaranteed!
4. You will be assigned a confidential code number. You should not share this code with anyone. By keeping it confidential, you ensure that you remain anonymous.
5. You will be asked to call back to the Crime Stoppers office periodically to find out what happened with your information.
6. If police or school administration are able to use your information to help solve a crime, then you are eligible for a cash reward up to $300. The value of your reward will depend on several factors including seriousness of the crime, number of people involved, etc.
7. Once approved by the student board of directors, your reward will be placed in a pre-arranged location for your pickup.
   

   In Haldimand-Norfolk...

   The first Student Crime Stoppers program in Haldimand-Norfolk started in the spring of 1993 at Hagersville Secondary School. Since then, all high schools in Haldimand-Norfolk and Tillsonburg have grown to have Student Crime Stoppers Programs - through either awareness programs or "stand alone" programs.
