Cypripedium Landonii
Monroe Landon discovered this new hybrid in 1949 in Turkey Point, Ontario, Canada. With similarities to both the Yellow Lady's Slipper (Cypripedium calceolus parviflorum) and the Lady's Slippers (Cypripedium candidum) and (Cypripedium favillianum). The Cypripedium Landonii about half the size of the before mentioned Lady's Slippers with a longer narrower labellum, and a lighter shaded sepals with lateral petals. This Lady's Slipper prefers moist soils, swamps and open marshes on the North shore of Lake Erie.
