Giant Horsetail

The highly adaptable horsetail plant is found in a variety of habitats on all major continental landmasses except Australia. These plants can survive and even flourish in soils severely contaminated by chemical pollutants. Horsetails have segmented stems with long, needle-like leaves radiating out from each of the stem segments. They lack true root systems.
