Northern Brown Snake

Storeria dekayi
A small 20-35 cm brown snake, light in colouration, which has two rows of black dots on each side of a dark brown line, centered on it's back. This snake can be found in the meadows, ravines and woodlots throughout Long Point Country. They like to seek shelter below the leaf litter and under logs. It's main food source is Earth-Worms and Slugs. It is a food source for other snakes, birds, Raccoons and Skunks.
