European Starling

Sturnus vulgaris

Song

The European starling, native to Europe, has been introduced successfully throughout the world. All the European starlings in North America come from 100 birds that were released in New York City's Central Park in 1890. Extremely prolific, starlings often flock in such great numbers that they are considered pests.
