Nyctea scandiaca

An artic owl that winters irregularly in the United States, will occasionally pass through Long Point Country during it's migration. With it's lovely white feathers and bright yellow eyes it is a remarkable bird to observe. They like to perch low to the ground and are quite approachable. They feed mainly on rodents.
