The Screech Owl seen in the above photo is in it's gray phase. Shown here sleeping it's ears are at rest. The screech Owl is a small common owl and can be found in the city as well as the country. It's colours range from rusty, to brown, to gray. The facial disk is the same colour as the head. This owl makes a quavering descending whistle. Like most owls, hunts at night and feeds mainly on rodents.
