Aythya americana

This large common bay duck, can be found on ponds, bays and lakes. It will raft with other ducks to form great flocks. The male has a light bill, dark breast, a large red head, with the body underparts being white. The female lacks the size and colouration of the head along with the conspicuious eye ring of the male and has a plain bluish bill.
