The osprey, also called a fish hawk, is found worldwide in coastal, river, or lake areas. Feeding exclusively on fish, the osprey has modified talons that allow a firm grasp on its slippery prey. Although highly migratory, ospreys may return to the same nest for a number of years. This large nest, constructed in the tops of trees or in high rocky areas and built entirely of sticks, usually holds two to four eggs, which hatch in 30 to 50 days.
