Icterus galbula

Song

The Baltimore oriole, native to North and Central America and northern South America, weaves intricate nests using assorted plant fibers, vines, yarn, string, paper, and other materials. This species feeds on caterpillars, beetles, ants, and wasps.

The Orchard Oriole (Icterus spurius) is the only Oriole that is brick red with a black tail east of the Mississippi and can be found in unsprayed orchards and shady wood margins. The Orchard Oriole song is of a melodious whistle and flute like notes.
