Parus atricapillus

The black-capped chickadee often feeds in groups or with other species of birds such as warblers and kinglets. Although small in size, the chickadee lays between 5 and 10 eggs in a breeding season. The nestlings are cared for by both parents. So many scientific studies have been made concerning the habits of this species that it is considered to be the most well-studied bird in the world.
