Those of you who have cached/biked/ hiked along the famous Waterford Heritage Trail or paddled Waterford Ponds, will have probably encountered the Waterford’s premier landmark, Black Bridge. Built in 1916, during WW1, it still proudly straddles the ponds. In 2012, the Waterford Heritage Trail Committee installed new railings and decking, thus establishing its role as a recreational link between Port Dover and Brantford.
This geo event is one of many attractions to be held in Waterford on August 12 & 13, all part of the Black Bridge Centennial celebration. In addition to the usual “meet & greet”, the event will serve as an information session for non-cachers and newbies, so bring a friend or five. That morning, you might want to enjoy the many caches in the area. Afterwards, feel free to hang around town to grab dinner and then enjoy the Fred Eaglesmith concert and fireworks in the evening.
