Myotis lucifugus

This small brown bat is very common over much of central North America. It feeds on mainly a diet of flying insects it locates by sonar echolocation clicks.

Skeleton of a Bat A bat’s thin wings stretch across the elongated digits of a structure very similar to the human hand. The clawed thumb is free of the wing.
