Rock Bass

Ambloplites rupestris

A small but aggressive member of the North American sunfish family, the rock bass rarely exceeds a weight of 0.2 kg (0.5 lb) and has no commercial value as a food fish. The rock bass is especially colorful at spawning time, when it diligently guards its eggs and newly hatched fry.
