Red-tailed Hawk

Buteo jamaicensis

Call

A common hawk that nests in the woodlands. It feeds on rodents it likes to catch in the meadow or open fields. It likes to perch on poles and treetops to keep an eye out for it's supper. This well known hawk is heavier than most and can be identified by it's red tail and dark bands on it's belly.
