Roy Kenner
BUSH
Another long-lost Canadian album finds its way back into circulation via CD. This self-titled 1970 disc features the work of one of the best rhythm sections in rock history, Canadian or otherwise, in bassist Prakash John and drummer Whitey Glan, along with frontman Roy Kenner and superb guitarist Domenic Troiano. The sound is only a slight improvement over the record, and the booklet is nothing special, but the real draw here is the bonus material: Four songs cut live in 1971 at L.A.'s Bitter End on the final weekend of the band's existence. The blistering performances, including a remarkable 20-minute workout on Cross Country Man, verify Bush's reputation as one of the hottest live acts of the era.
