Bruce "House" Milner

House has contributed generously to our community by offering us his fine song writing skills, which have been taken up by some of Canada's finest artists like Cal Dodd - CBC EP I (1974) and Laurie Bower. His easy poetry and sensible melodies make singing and playing them a joy. Added to Houses' many talents are the making of wonderful screen doors and the creation of quaint carvings with local history as the subject material. In 2002 Bruce wrote a play, entitled "Wooden Boats & Iron Men", a musical documentary dealing with the maritime history of Lake Erie.

OCTOBER MOON

Lyrics and Music by: Bruce Milner

G A7

October moon, Winter's commin' soon,

D7 G

Gotta find a warmer place to stay

G A7

Each day grows cold and I, think more of you,

D7 G

Oh won't you be my honey babe

C G

We'll build a cabin, nestled in the pines,

A7 D7

Oh won't you say that you'll be, mine

G A7

Just a little love nest, where we can spend all of our time,

D7 G

Oh won't you say that you'll be mine

Break

G A7

It's the natural thing, for me to be in love with you

D7 G

I've known you ever since you was two

G A7

And I've watched you through the years and I think that your fine

D7 G

Oh won't you say that you'll be mine

C G

We'll build a little love nest, away from all the rest

A7 D7

And we will feel our hearts entwine

G A7

And so I long for the day, that you'll give me your hand

D7 G E7

Oh won't you say that you'll be mine

A7 D7 G E7

Oh won't you say that you'll be mine

A7 D7 G
